Samridh support

With SAMRIDH’s financial support through the milestone-based grant, Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) reinforced emergency response systems through its innovative aggregation platform, “REACH”. REACH successfully aggregated private ambulances and streamlined patients’ access to emergency services, also integrating government-provided free ambulances to benefit vulnerable populations. The project established a comprehensive ecosystem for ambulance-based services through platform, facility, and community-based activities, enhancing access to emergency healthcare for those in need. HLFPPT further leveraged SAMRIDH’s financial support by ~4x by raising additional capital for sustenance of the initiative.

25,851

Ambulances for about 1,30,00,000 people across India [1]

24,012

People die each day due to delay in receiving medical assistance [2]

India’s emergency healthcare landscape remains largely unregulated, leaving a critical gap in response mechanisms, particularly for ambulance services. The scarcity of trained emergency medical technicians and inadequately equipped ambulances hampers the delivery of essential life-saving interventions, including Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Vulnerable populations face significant barriers in accessing emergency health services, underscoring the urgent need for a consolidated and reliable emergency response system.

Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) has transformed India’s emergency healthcare response with a groundbreaking platform. This mobile app aggregates free and paid ambulances, mirroring Uber’s model, to provide swift medical emergency response. Additionally, HLFPPT trains healthcare staff, partners with facilities, and offers complimentary services to those in need. This initiative addresses long-standing challenges, including regulatory gaps and inadequate emergency services, to create a robust and responsive emergency healthcare system. By doing so, HLFPPT enhances care quality and saves lives, bridging critical gaps in India’s emergency healthcare landscape.
