SAMRIDH’s innovative financing approach has empowered Sunfox to achieve self-sufficiency and foster innovation in cardiac health. With Samridh’s support, covering operational expenses and bolstering marketing efforts, we have significantly amplified our product visibility and spurred demand. Consequently, this has led to the widespread deployment of Spandan devices across various settings, greatly expanding our reach. Furthermore, this collaboration enabled partnerships with state governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders, facilitating large-scale sales. Empowered by SAMRIDH, Sunfox extends life-saving ECG technology to even the most underserved communities, transcending barriers.
Samridh support
SAMRIDH’s financial assistance enabled Sunfox to strengthen their technical and sales teams and ensure deployment of Spandan ECG in public healthcare facilities in tier 2 and 3 cities. Through this support, the enterprise was able to get additional funding, achieving a leverage of approximately 8.2x over committed funds. SAMRIDH also provided business advisory and market access assistance to scale up Spandan ECG. Furthermore, SAMRIDH facilitated government linkages to enhance Sunfox’s reach, leading to a significant increase in product visibility and demand, as well as partnerships for widespread deployment in small towns, clinics, and public health facilities. In addition, SAMRIDH’s support facilitated Sunfox to expand its product line of cardiac health products and services. These include Spandan Military Grade Device, Spandan Neo, Spandan Pro, Spandan Legacy, and Alfa Test.
African Presence
Sunfox has established their presence in 12 countries on the African subcontinent through its intervention Spandan ECG. They have established an active and prospective channel of medical device suppliers and doctors in these countries who have made it possible for Spandan to start the process of medical device compliance certification. So far, there are over 400 Spandan ECG deployed in the African continent actively being used at homes, clinics and medical campaigns and have conducted over 10,000 tests. Sunfox has registered Spandan ECG with the Kenya Pharmacy Board. They are now working on registering the product in other African countries as well. Sunfox has also partnered with United Pharma in Kenya, Global Lifecare in Tanzania and Faryar Pharma Ltd. Mogadishu in Somalia for deployment of Spandan ECG units.
32%
Of global deaths are due to cardiovascular diseases in 2019. [1]
25,000
Deaths due to heart attacks in India consistent in 2018-22. [2]
Less than 20% of hospitals in India have advanced equipment for detecting arrhythmia or coronary heart disease.3 An early electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that can be used to diagnose cardiac disease and save lives by allowing for timely and effective treatment. Millions of lives lost to cardiovascular diseases may be prevented if round-the-clock monitoring equipment, routine monitoring, and cardiac evaluation were accessible.

Sunfox Technologies has developed the Spandan ECG device, a pocket-sized innovation that swiftly diagnoses life-threatening cardiac events. This battery-free device provides reliable reports on mobile phones instantly, enabling home ECG and routine cardiac monitoring to prevent such incidents. Designed to diagnose and prevent life-threatening cardiac events within the critical “golden hour” through routine monitoring, the Spandan ECG aims to ensure affordability and reliable tele-reporting of ECGs. Sunfox plans to deploy the device in public health facilities nationwide, including in tier 1, 2, and 3 cities, semi-urban, rural areas, and villages, making it accessible even in the most remote and underserved communities.
